The Benazir Income Support Programme is one of Pakistan’s biggest welfare initiatives. It helps low-income families, widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities.
Eligibility is verified through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) and the Proxy Means Test (PMT). Each eligible family receives Rs 13,500 every quarter through partners like HBL Konnect, Bank Alfalah, and JazzCash.

How to Check Your BISP Balance
Through the 8171 Web Portal
Go to 8171.bisp.gov.pk, click Check Balance / Eligibility, and enter your 13-digit CNIC without dashes. Complete the CAPTCHA and submit. Your payment details, eligibility, and collection center will appear instantly.
If you see “Record Not Found” or “Under Verification,” wait 24–48 hours and try again. Make sure your CNIC is active and always use the official 8171 site to stay safe.
By SMS (Without Internet)
Type your CNIC number in a text message and send it to 8171. You’ll receive a reply in Urdu and English with your eligibility and payment info.
If it says “Under Verification,” your NSER record is being updated. Always use a SIM registered under your CNIC for accurate results.
At BISP or Tehsil Offices
If online options don’t work, visit your nearest BISP or Ehsaas Tehsil Office with your original CNIC. Staff will check your payment record and guide you if your funds are pending. Payment camps and bank agents are also available to help you collect your money securely.
Via ATM or Partner Bank
If your payments are linked to a debit card, visit HBL Konnect or Bank Alfalah ATM. Insert your card, choose Balance Inquiry, and view your amount. You can also ask a bank agent to check it for you.
Who Can Use the Service
All beneficiaries with a valid CNIC verified by NADRA, a registered SIM, and an active NSER record can use 8171 services. Special desks at Tehsil offices now assist senior citizens and people with disabilities.
Before You Check
Make sure your CNIC is active, your NSER record is updated, and your SIM is linked to your CNIC. If household details like income or address have changed, update them at your nearest registration center. Old data often causes “Not Eligible” or “Pending” results.
A “Not Eligible” message usually means your poverty score is above the cutoff or your information is outdated. Renew your CNIC through NADRA and update your NSER details at a BISP office.

November 2025 Payment Schedule
Punjab and Sindh payments ran from Nov 10–14, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan from Nov 15–20, and Gilgit-Baltistan & AJK from Nov 18–22.

Stay Safe from Scams
BISP only sends official SMS from 8171. Ignore any messages asking for money or personal details. Never share your CNIC on unverified apps or social media, and avoid agents promising faster payments.
Common Problems and Fixes
If the portal shows “Record Not Found,” wait a day and retry. If your CNIC is invalid, renew it via NADRA. If no SMS arrives, check that your SIM is linked to your CNIC. If the portal won’t load, clear cache or use incognito mode. And always trust messages only from 8171.
The New Digital Wallet System
BISP is piloting a Digital Wallet that sends funds directly to mobile wallets linked to CNICs. It’s designed to reduce crowds at centers and ensure instant, secure transfers. Full rollout is expected in 2026.
